Francisco Silva is a professor of Management at the Department of Economics and Business, University of the Azores (Azores Islands, Portugal).

He finished his PhD in Economics and Management at the University Pompeu  Fabra  (Barcelona,  Spain)  in  September 2005 a Master of Science in Management at the University Pompeu Fabra in 2001 and a Master of Science in Statistics and Econometrics at the Technical University of Lisbon (Lisbon, Portugal) in 1998.

He has been working on several research studies on regional economic development and public finance applied to the Azores Islands. His research interests cover the areas of Statistics and Operations Research with an emphasis on the optimal location of public and private facilities.
